When French architect Caroline Frambourg of Légende iD was asked to redecorate the Prelem Lyon office, she was faced with the equation: Better conditions for employee satisfaction drive and joy, equal better results at the bottom line.
Based on the initial dialogue with the client, she developed her ideas for the design.
“My task was to enhance the brand identity and image of the company in the office. As Prelem operates within the field of engineering, I have applied different touches of technology to the interior, in particular in the design created for the office flooring”, Caroline Frambourg explains.
With the possibility of mixing expressive designs with indoor climate benefits, ege carpets came across as an ideal choice for the Prelem office project. Therefore, Caroline Frambourg did not hesitate to turning to ege for assistance. The result is a beautiful carpet solution which complements the interior and the need for style, atmosphere and comfort.
According to Caroline Frambourg, the challenge for the PRELEM office was to add a feel of home to the interior in order to make the young team feel comfortable.
“My job is about creating a welcoming atmosphere which through the use of symbols and codes conveys key information about the company and which will be intercepted unconsciously by both staff and visitors”.
When Caroline Frambourg began the project, the floors of the office were covered in carpet with a black base colour and grey squares. The carpet was in fine condition and was as such not in need of replacement. However, with the overall theme of the new interior in mind, a new carpet solution would assist in uniting the design elements in the office, creating a greater sense of whole.
“My idea for the project was to divide the flooring into zones in order to create clear visual markings according to departments and job functions. These were intended to depict the different areas of business of the employees working in the office. By the elevator, I have chosen a pattern of wavy lines, symbolising a river and to express the fluidity of their profession”
CAROLINE FRAMBOURG, ARCHITECT AT LÉGENDE iD
The Prelem project is a great example of the importance of a carpet being regarded as an important part of a greater whole. At ege, we create more than carpets. We supply customised solutions that make a difference to our clients. Therefore, we look at each single project as an individual challenge that should be handled in full consideration of the client’s needs.
